I’ve tried just about every hobby and sport known to man. I’ve got an adventurous personality and it means I am driven to try anything and everything that I haven’t tried before. I’m not necessarily the best at the things I try, but I try them anyway. My hobby changes every month and this month I’ve decided to pick up fishing! As long as I’m not as bad at fishing as I am horse riding, I’ve got another fun adventure ahead of me!
I’ve purchased a very low quality dinghy that I’m going to use for the month, and maybe the rest of my life if I decide I really love fishing. Each month I put money away for my hobbies, and so I decided to improve my dinghy by installing fishing rod holders. Melbourne has places that sell those, right? I like to go all out with my hobbies so that I get the highest quality experience possible. I want to make sure I’ve done things right. I live by the motto: ‘go hard or go home’.
I went out for my first fishing trip last night. Now that I think about it, it probably wasn’t the best idea going at night time, but I was eager after work to get going. I didn’t catch anything, which I’ve heard is normal. I now know my way around the small boat, and I know what it needs. If I’m going to be a professional fisherman, I’m going to need snapper racks. That way I can have multiple fishing rods going at the same time. Surely I’ll catch something if that’s the case.
I’m looking forward to the next month of being out on the water and catching fish. I expect that my next trip will involve many fish and I’ll be very impressed with myself. I’m already planning what next month’s hobby will be, as you can never be too organised. Here’s to living life to the fullest!
